ERC Program Levels
LEVEL I SAFE MILES....
"Safety By
Commitment". This level represents the commitment of the Rider
and the Co-Rider to practice safe motorcycle operation whenever
they operate their motorcycle. There is a one time cost of $9.00
per person which includes your Patch and Upper Rocker, and is
good for life. You may also purchase Safe Mile Pins for the patch
at $3.00 ea., these come in 5000 mile increments. A Safe Miles
Lower Rocker is available at the 100,000 mile level.
LEVEL II TOUR RIDER...
"safety by
Education". This level represents the commitment of the Rider and
the Co-Rider to be safe motorcycle riders by taking Approved
Motorcycle Riding Courses at regular intervals (Every 2 Years).
There is a cost of $35.00 for the Rider and $10.00 for the
Co-Rider. There is also a one time cost of $7.50 ea., for the
patch.
LEVEL III CERTIFIED TOUR RIDER...
"Safety by Preparedness". This level trains you
to be prepared in the case of an emergency. The Course will
include CPR and First Aid Training for the Rider and the
Co-Rider. It also requires a commitment to wear protective
clothing while riding, carry a first aid kit on the motorcycle
and be current in both Level I and Level II. It is a requirement
of Level III to have CPR and First Aid training. You must take
one of these courses every year to maintain a current Level
III
LEVEL IV MASTER TOUR RIDER...
"Safety
by Enhanced Commitment and Preparedness". This level requires
25,000 safe miles as well as CPR and First Aid Training. You must
have been enrolled at Level III for a minimum of one year before
applying for Level IV.
RENEWAL...
"Levels II, III, & IV". Everyone must renew their current or highest level in January each year. To renew, you must fill out a Rider Education Application form with all your current information, the courses you have taken, when they expire and include copies of the completion cards. Mark "Renew" on the form pay the fee and give it to your Chapter Educator. They will issue your renewal bar and pass the paperwork to the appropriate people. For Levels II & III the fee is $2.00, for level IV (Master) the fee is $10.00.
